Tanya Leigh-Ane Sargent, 32
Tanya Leigh-Ane Sargent, 32, of Bemidji, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at her home in Bemidji. She was a dialysis patient waiting for a kidney.
A traditional service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake. A wake will begin at noon Friday at the Veteran's Memorial Building and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Old Agency Catholic Cemetery in Onigum. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Cass Lake assisted the family with arrangements.
Pallbearers will be J.D. Bluewolf, Mike Smith, Daniel Olson Jr., Patrick Kelleher, Sonny Hernandez and Tina Garbow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey, Senecca, Anevay and Hattie Keezer, Dodie Day, Brittany, Brooke Olson, Tina Headbird, Arlene Fairbanks, Joe Fairbanks and Cliff Garbow.
She was born Jan. 26, 1976, to Clifford Garbow and Cynthia (Aitkin) Keefer in Minneapolis. She attended school at Cass Lake Bena Elementary and Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig schools. She also went to a tribal college. She enjoyed going to powwows, spending time with family, bike riding, telling others about her childhood, doing crossword puzzles and movie nights.
She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Keezer of Bemidji; daughters, Senecca, Anevay Hattie Keezer, all of Bemidji, Christena Keezer of France; father of Minneapolis; brothers, Mike Smith of Cloquet and J.D. Bluewolf of Maryland; sisters, Dodie Day of Onigum and Tina Garbow of St. Paul; one grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; son, Jeffrey Keezer; and brother, Curtis Day-Monroe.
