The West Fargo cross-country and track teams are hosting a benefit run for junior runner Ian Alves on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 9 a.m on the West Fargo High School track.
Alves, who has competed on both the track and cross-country teams, has been battling cancer for the last two years.
All proceeds from the event will help pay for Alves' medical expenses.
"Our goal is to raise money in support of his fight and to help him try and live out his dreams of a high school student with all proceeds from this run going to Ian and his family," assistant cross-country coach Brad Amundson said.
Registration for the run costs $15 for the one-mile run and $25 for the 5k run. A shirt will be given to all registrants.
Registrations can be taken at cpcwf.org/teamian. You can also get a registration form from a member of the cross-country team.
