Ted Lettenmaier

Ted Lettenmaier, 60, West Fargo, died Friday, December 25, 2009 in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Theodore Mathew Lettenmaier was born August 8, 1949 at Sanborn, N.D., the son of Calvin and Ilah Mae (Kronebusch) Lettenmaier. He was raised and attended school at Sanborn. Following graduation from Sanborn High School, Ted attended Valley City State University, graduating with a degree in music education. He taught music in Esmond, N.D. from 1972 to 1975. December 31, 1975 he married Sandra College at Aberdeen, S.D. and they made their home in West Fargo, where they have lived since.

Ted was a crop adjustor, beginning in 1975 and continued in the crop adjusting business throughout his career. He was currently working as a vice president of claims for American Omni Crop.

Ted enjoyed gardening, cooking and supporting the Twins and Vikings teams.

He is survived by his wife, Sandi and daughters Tara Lettenmaier and Ashley Lettenmaier, all of West Fargo; parents, Calvin and Ilah Mae Lettenmaier, Sanborn; three brothers, Duane (Loretta), David, Kent (Connie), all of Sanborn; two sisters, Maribeth (Olly) Larson, Burnsville, Minn,, Leanne (Jerry) Hayes, Spiritwood, N.D.; sister-in-law, Mary Lettenmaier, Bismarck, N.D. and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerome, sister-in-law Patsy Danielson and nephew, Steven Lettenmaier.

Teds' family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to Dr. Panwalker and staff at Roger Maris and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their excellent treatment and care.

The family requests that memorial gifts be directed to the Roger Maris Cancer Center or Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Visitation and prayer services were held Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at 2 p.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery South, Fargo.
