The Packers boys tennis team took to the court for the first time this season on Friday against Fargo North, and did so in a big way, flattening the Spartans 9-0.

Highlighting the team’s performance was senior Keyan Farahmand, who beat North’s Ben Swanson in straight sets without surrendering a point. He, also, along with senior Nick Sikorski, won a doubles match in straight sets by a 6-4, 6-3 score.

Junior Brady Ballweber, the team’s first-flight athlete, gave up just one point to his opponent, winning his singles match 6-1, 6-0. He followed that up with a 6-1, 6-3 doubles victory, teaming up with senior Brendan Walker.

The team’s other victories came from North Knewtson, Drew Kooyer and Michael Holland.

The Packers host the Fargo South Bruins tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. at West Fargo High School. They will head to Grand Forks to face the Central Knights on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
