Theresa Eiter Braun

Former Breckenridge resident Theresa Eiter Braun, 81, of Perham, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Perham Memorial Nursing Home in Perham.
Theresa was born the daughter of William and Johanna (Neppl) Underberg on Jan. 1, 1928 in Kent, Minn. She attended grade school at Kent and Brushvale, Minn. She went on to school in Techny, Ill., and Lincoln, Neb., and finished her junior and senior years at St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, N.D., graduating from there in 1945. Following graduation, she worked at St. Francis Hospital.
On Nov. 21, 1946, Theresa married Ellsworth Eiter at St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, N.D. The made their home in the Breckenridge- Wahpeton area. Ellsworth preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 1986. Theresa continued living in Wahpeton until June 9, 1992, when she married Bernard Braun of Breckenridge. They lived in Breckenridge until October 1997, when they moved to Perham. Bernard preceded Theresa in death on Nov. 16, 2005.
Theresa was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge. She enjoyed sewing, needlework, scrapbooking, card playing, collecting, huge holiday gatherings, gardening, canning and walking.
Surviving Theresa are her daughters, Suzanne James of Kingsville, Texas, Bonnie (Keith) Schoon of West Fargo and Patrice (Steve) Seiter of Ponca City, Okla.; her sons, Tom (Anita) Eiter of Cannon Falls, Minn., Tim (Eileen) Eiter of Mentor, Minn., Tony (Mary) Eiter of West Fargo, Ted (Janice) Eiter of El Cajon, Calif., and Terry (Barb) Eiter of Detroit Lakes; 18 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret Tousignant of Lake Placid, Fla., and Liz (Don) Michaletz of Eagan, Minn.; her brother-in-law, Lester Krump of Breckenridge; as well as any nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William and Johanna Underberg; her first husband, Ellsworth Eiter; her second husband, Bernard Braun; her daughter, Margaret (Eiter) Anderson; her sister, Marie Krump; her brother, Thomas; and a sister, Mary and brother, Joseph who both died in infancy.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 27, followed with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Joseph Vertin & Sons Funeral Home in Breckenridge. There will also be visitation at the funeral home for one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 28 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Breckenridge, with the Rev. Kenneth Popp officiating.
Interment will be at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Kent, Minn. Pallbearers will be Theresa's sons, Tom, Tim, Tony, Ted and Terry Eiter.
