Uetz named Exchange Club Student of the Month

Spencer Uetz, a senior at West Fargo High School, has been named the West Fargo Exchange Club Student of the Month for April. He is the son of Al and Deb Uetz of Horace.

While a student at West Fargo High, Spencer has been active in a number of areas including National Honor Society, Youth Leadership, DARE role model, as a Boys State delegate selected state auditor, Students Today Leaders Forever, and an academic letter winner in grades nine through 12.

He has also been athletically active and by the time he graduates will have 12 varsity letters. He has been involved with: cross country (9-12), all conference, (10-12), second team all-state track and field (9-12), all conference (10-12)- 2010 captain; 2009 track MVP and most dedicated athlete, cross country 2008 and 2009 team captain, three-time most dedicated, four-event EDC champion track, and EDC cross country runner-up 2009.

Community and volunteer participation has included: Big Brother/Big Sister, Hope Lutheran Church Youth Leader, Fargo-Moorhead Youth Summit, and Ronald McDonald House committee co-chair.

Spencer plans to attend North Dakota State University, Fargo, majoring in Exercise Science and Mathematics. After that he will continue his education by attending medical school. He also intends to run track and field and cross country at NDSU.
