FARGO - The Cass County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fight at a party after five people with knife cuts and other injuries showed up at the Sanford Medical Center emergency room this morning.

Sgt. DuWayne Nitschke said the five West Fargo-area victims, ages 16 to 21, drove themselves to the emergency room, arriving about 4 a.m. They claimed they had been in a fight involving five to eight people around 1:30 a.m. at a rural party and bonfire somewhere south of Casselton, according to Detective Joel Stading.

Possible weapons involved were knives, a baseball bat and brass knuckles, Stading said in a news release.

All five victims were treated and released.

"We're not sure exactly what happened, either. We're getting some conflicting stories," Nitschke said, noting authorities had more people left to interview.

"Sounds like a pretty childish brawl," he added.
