Wasness honored for military service

Sgt. Dale Wasness, of West Fargo, was presented the Army Commendation Medal on April 24, at Camp Bondsteel.

Wasness is deployed to Kosovo with Fargo's 141st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade on a NATO peacekeeping mission. He works with the Multinational Battle Group East civil military operations section as a driver and received the medal for exceptional service in support of the battle group's mission.

Wasness has served in the North Dakota Army National Guard for six years and is a member of the 188th Vertical Engineer Company in Wahpeton, N.D.

In civilian life, Wasness is a self-employed carpenter. He resides in Fargo with his wife, Megan, and 2-year-old son, Luke.

Wasness grew up in West Fargo and is the son of Carl and Wanda Wasness.
