Weather packs second wallop
High gusting winds pushing around minimal snowfall amounts, in turn making driving difficult, seemed to be the main culprit in the second winter blast that howled through the area Monday and most of the day Tuesday.
A winter weather advisory remained in effect throughout the afternoon yesterday.
In West Fargo, some roads were temporarily blocked during the night on Monday and Tuesday and slippery conditions continue due to the recent warm temperature and snow melt on Sunday.
The West Fargo Police Department received no major accident reports, only calls from motorists stuck in snow banks at various places in the community, with officers responding to assist wherever they could.
Crews have been out placing sand on intersections to help with slippery conditions. In the meantime, West Fargo Assistant Police Chief Mike Reitan encourages motorists "to proceed with caution until the roadways are cleared again."
