The West Fargo-based Spitfire barbecue team took sixth place in what some have called the Super Bowl of barbecue cook-offs.
Tim Olson, head cook for the outfit, says he's proud of his finish the Annual Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue competition Saturday.
"I feel good, you know, my first time, my first year doing this," he says.
But he was also disappointed that he didn't take the grand prize.
"I went to win," he says.
More than 80 teams from 11 countries competed in the event, which was held in Lynchburg, Tenn.
Spitfire had its best showing in the ribs category where the team took third.
Olson says he's "definitely" going to try to get back next year.
