West Fargo Exchange Club to sponsor police, fire department award luncheon
The West Fargo Exchange Club will be recognizing an employee from the city as The West Fargo Police Department "Employee of the Year," and a volunteer as the West Fargo Fire Department "Volunteer Firefighter of the Year," at the West Fargo Exchange Club luncheon on Tuesday, May 17, at noon at the Speedway Event Center in West Fargo.
This award is presented annually to individuals who consistently demonstrate services and benefits rendered to other people or for other objectives over and beyond excellence in one's own profession or workplace.
The ceremony formerly took place during the West Fargo Area Chamber of Commerce annual breakfast meeting, but with the merger of West Fargo with the Fargo Moorhead Chamber, the event was discontinued so the West Fargo Exchange Club decided they wanted to see it continue as a community activity, so they took over the sponsorship and promotion of the awards ceremony.
Selection for the honor, which will be completed by respective department officials, will be based on: the candidates showing outstanding skills associated with law enforcement or volunteer firefighting activities; exemplifying a positive attitude toward the city, as well as citizenship through community involvement; and being recognized and respected by his or her peers and the community.
Tickets for the awards luncheon can be purchased for $8 in advance from Shawn Preabt at 701-799-7636 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Organized in January 1973, The West Fargo Exchange Club is linked to a national organization that emphasizes Americanism, youth, and community service while offering an opportunity for fellowship and informative programs on the community level.
