West Fargo police arrest man after he held fiancee against her will

West Fargo police arrested a man after he allegedly threatened his fiancée with a firearm and held her against her will for several hours early this morning.

According to a news release by Detective Derek Cruff:

Joseph W. Bryan, 21, 901 9th St. W., returned from a bar after midnight and began arguing with his fiancée, a 19-year-old woman who lives at the same address.

The woman alleged that when she tried to leave the residence, he held her there against her will, using a firearm to keep her at the residence until 3:20 a.m., when he allowed her to leave, the news release said.

Bryan was taken into custody at his residence at 9:44 a.m. without incident by police and charged with terrorizing and felonious restraint, the news release said.
