West Fargo teachers attend health conference

Three West Fargo teachers attended the state health conference at Jamestown College, June 1-4. Sarah Larson, FACS teacher at Cheney Middle School, Stacy Adamson, health teacher at Harwood, and Pat Johnson, counselor at Harwood and Horace, set goals to improve health and help prevention of drug abuse among students at West Fargo Schools.

Discussion and plans were made to consider a walking path at Harwood and to re-establish a health committee to encourage the growth of the SADD clubs (Students Against Destructive Decisions) at the West Fargo Schools to discourage abuse of alcohol and drugs.

The conference also had workshops and speakers pertaining to student issues, including underage drinking, cyber-bullying, and the dangers of video games and sexual activity.
