Western State Bank recently awarded two local students $250 savings scholarships as part of their scholastic recognition program, Western Pays for A's. The scholastic recognition program is designed to reward high school students for their hard work in school.

Western recognizes students for their academic as well as community efforts and supports them as they prepare for their future education," commented Brad Jacobson, Western State Bank President.
Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to bring their report cards into Western following each quarter. The businesses participating in the program include Anytime Fitness, Happy Joe's, Panchero's Mexican Grill, Sandy's Donuts & Coffee Shop, Schumacher Good Year, Stars and Strikes Bowling, Sunmart Foods, Sweet Dreams Confections, United Automotive Tech Center and West Acres Bowl.
Each semester, Western State Bank will award two $250 savings account scholarships selected from students in grades 9-12 that have brought in their report cards. Students will receive an entry for each "A" they have earned. Each year, four students in grades 9-12 will have the opportunity to begin saving toward their college education from their dedication in high school.
