WF cheer teams take first at state

The West Fargo High School varsity and junior varsity cheerleading teams both took first place Nov. 20, at the NDCCA Fall State Cheerleading Competition at Red River High School in Grand Forks.

The West Fargo varsity squad competed against eight other North Dakota Class A teams to take its first state title. The JV team competed against three other Class A teams, and brought home its second straight title.

Also, Chelsea Hermanson, Cheyenne Rust, Alicia Bates, McKenzie Schiele, and Tuyen Huynh took on 14 other teams to win fifth-place honors in the partner stunt division.

Members of the Packers varsity cheer team include: Bates, Gabbie Chase, Amber Cox, Missy Harms, Chelsea Hermanson, Taylor Hintgen, Huynh, Danielle Kartes, Morgan Laite, Renae Lisk, Raeya Mickelson, Kayleigh Omang, Brenna Raab, Rust, and Schiele. They are coached by Jenni Stewart

Members of the West Fargo junior varsity team include: Gina Anderson, Brianna Carsen, Kelsey Husler, Harly Johnson, Mallory Kuehl, Alyssa Manning, Shelby Pearson, Emily Perala, Tanya Ridder, and Maren Thompson. They are coached by Cassie Voltzke.
