WFHS names two new coaches
West Fargo High School has named two new head coaches for the fall 2013 season.
James Moe will be taking over for Doug Millar as the boys' soccer coach and Sally Sautner will take the helm as the girls' swim coach, replacing Marsha Dahl.
Moe is currently the girls' soccer coach and served as an assistant coach under Millar for the boys' team last season.
"Doug has been a part of the program 14+ years," Moe said. "That's a tough act to follow, but we plan to keep that West Fargo winning tradition alive and carry on what Doug has left behind."
Since he was the assistant coach and many members of the boys' team aid him with the girls' team, Moe fully expects a seamless transition to his new position for the upcoming season.
"The guys are pumped," Moe said. "For most of them, soccer is their main sport. It will be exciting to see what they can do this coming season."
Sautner is a former assistant swim coach at Minot and Fargo North. She also coached for a swim club in California. While she is less familiar with her new situation, she is looking forward to bringing new life to a program that has had the same coach for two decades.
"Marsha Dahl has created some huge shoes to fill, but I'm excited for the opportunity," Sautner said. "It's a great program, and I'm looking forward to bringing something new."
Both teams will begin practice in August.
