WFPD's Officer Anderson promoted
Chief Arland Rasmussen announced that Officer Jason Anderson has been selected to the position of Patrol Sergeant for the West Fargo Police Department.
Due to growth over the past several years, Chief Rasmussen was granted, by the city commission, his request for an additional Sergeant to supervise patrol.
Sergeant Anderson was initially hired by the WFPD in April, 1998. He is a graduate of Barnesville High School, and attended NDSU before transferring to Bemidji (Minn.) State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
Anderson's career includes being the first school resource officer for West Fargo Public Schools, is currently a defensive tactics instructor, is currently part of the bike patrol unit, serves as an advisor for Citizens Police Academy, and is currently a member of the Red River Regional SWAT Team as a bomb technician for the past 11 years.
Anderson is most proud of his children, who excel in wrestling. He enjoys coaching his children in wrestling, and spending his off-duty time as a proud father.
