WF's Sayers to compete for MMA title

Dane Sayers, a 2006 graduate of West Fargo High School and former wrestler and football player, will be in the cage Saturday, Nov. 14, at The Venue for his seventh professional Mixed Martial Arts match at MAX Fights Proving Grounds.

Sayers will be competing for the 185 pound middleweight title and belt against Tom VanKley, Sioux Falls, S.D. 

Dane has a 6-0 record and trains at the Academy of Combat Arts with Muay Thai instructor John Kalenze and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu coach Dylan Spicer. 

Others competing are: Jake Meyer vs. Tat Romero, Aaron Downing vs. Jeremy Stetz, Jared Zahalka vs. Josh Burgett, Billy Christianson vs. Dan Jones, Chase Kerber vs. Cameron Ramberg, Nathan Wagner vs. Shane Jones, Dominick Oliver vs. Nick Wagner, Andrew Keller vs. Carl Klocke, and Jason Ehresmann vs. John Kalenze. 

Doors open at 5 p.m. with fights starting at 6 p.m. You must be 21 to enter and general admission tickets are $20. 

Sayers lives in West Fargo with his wife, Megan, and their son.
