Winter art classes available through West Fargo Community Arts program
The West Fargo Community Arts Program will be offering adult and after-school art classes this winter. The Community Arts program was initiated this fall as a way to enhance art education and appreciation in West Fargo. The classes will be solely funded by registration fees, with a minimum of 12 students required per class to cover costs.
Elementary art classes will be offered to students in grades 1-5 at three locations. Drawing, Painting and Paper Art, will be offered in the Eastwood Elementary art room, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., with sessions held on Thursdays, January 8, 15, 22, and 29. Another session of the same class will be offered on January 20, 21, 22, and 23, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Aurora Elementary. Chris Boyle, an art instructor at Eastwood Elementary, will teach the course.
Drawing and Painting, exploring tissue paper painting and drawing techniques, will be offered in the art room at L.E. Berger Elementary School, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, January 13, 20, 27 and February 3. Tamer Kapaun will teach the course.
An adult art class, Introduction to Art and Design, will be offered in Room 1502 at Cheney Middle School, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, January 15, 22, 29, and February 5. The class will explore traditional and abstract art forms using a variety of media and techniques to introduce basic principles of drawing, design and color theory.
