The West Fargo wrestling team continued its dominant ways over the weekend. They had five duals in Grand Forks in the span of two days, and won all of them.
Their first dual was a 68-3 squash match of the Mandan Braves on Friday.
Later that day, the Packers had their only close contest of the weekend, narrowly beating the Bismarck Demons 31-29.
Saturday featured three routs. They beat the Minot Magicians 63-12 before beating the Willistion Coyotes 49-18 and taking down the Dickinson Midgets 56-15.
Senior Preston Lehmann had a strong showing throughout the weekend. He pinned all five of his opponents in the 195-pound class - three of them in under a minute - and spent less then six minutes on the mat this weekend.
Sophomore Jordan Shearer also had a strong outing, winning four matches by pin and one by a 10-0 major decision.
"We feel good about how we are competing right now," head coach Kayle Dangerud said. "We had some great matches this weekend against some tough west region teams. The guys are working hard and improving each time they wrestle."
The Packers will host the Grand Forks-Red River Roughriders tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. They then travel to Aberdeen, S.D., on Saturday to participate in the Lee Wolf Memorial Tournament.
