Library News (Aug. 14)

Special Event:

Wow! School: Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1:30 to 2:30 p. m. Decorate a bookmark, create a personal design on your school notebook, listen to a story, and enjoy a snack. Get ready for school. All supplies provided for session. One door prize of a back pack loaded with grade school supplies. Registration is required for this session. Call the library 701-433-5460 or stop at the service desk in the library to register.

Teen Craft: Tuesday, Aug. 20, 6:30 p.m. Open to all middle school and high school students. A sample craft will be available at the Library. Join for some simple fun and a snack. All supplies provided. Registration is required.

Regular Events:

Tech Class- Computer II: Monday, Aug. 19, 6:30 p. m. This free session is for those who have some computer knowledge. The session will cover how to navigate your computer, make and store files in folders, common types of files, creating sub folders, and how to find your files after you have created them. This is a hand-on class. Registration is required and class size is limited.

Genealogy: Saturday, Aug. 17, 12 to 4 p.m. Genealogist Jackie Marler will be available to help explore your family's history. Take your projects or just ask questions.

Ham Radio Operators (RRRA): Wednesday, Aug. 14, 6:45 to 8:30 p. m. Open to all adults interested in learning about ham radio operating.

Knitty Giddy Group: Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Adults are invited to join this fun group of knitters and crocheters. New and experienced crafters are welcome. Attend with your own supplies. Lots of help to get beginners started. New knitters should take size 8 or 10 needles and yarn. If you'd like to learn to crochet, take a crochet hook and yarn.

Friday Morning Movie —Let's Go to School: Aug. 16, 10:30 a.m. Help your child get ready for school. (Rated E) 35 minutes.

Simply Stories: Tuesday, Aug. 20, 10:15 a. m. Take your little ones to the library and enjoy two stories. Geared for lap babies and preschoolers. Unlike regular storytimes, this program is just stories — no crafts. If you're looking for stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library Tuesdays at 1:30 or Thursdays at 6:30.

Storytime: Welcome to the wonderful world of stories and make-and-take crafts! Story times are geared for preschool through 1st grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but if your group is larger than 5, call ahead so there are enough crafting supplies. (701) 433-5460. Board Games: Aug. 15, 7 p.m. Simple, relaxing fun for the whole family. Play Connect, cards, Battleship, Splat, Legos, and more. No registration required.

New Release Movie - Warm Bodies: Saturday, Aug. 24, 2 p.m. A sensitive, undead slacker zombie love story. Popcorn and free entertainment. (Rated PG) 138 minutes.
