West Fargo's Thirteenth Avenue will soon be home to two welcome additions, a HomeGoods store that will fill the Old Navy building in Westgate Commons at 1500 13th Ave. E. and a Marshall's Store that will be taking over the current Big Lots location on the end of the mall.

HomeGoods is a home furnishing store where shoppers of every style discover distinctive home fashions at up to 60% off department and specialty store prices every day on any type of home decor imaginable. It is part of a chain of home furnishing stores operated by TJX Companies with 400 stores across the U.S.

Marshalls is one of the nation's leading off-price family apparel and home fashion retailers with over 880 stores spanning 42 states and Puerto Rico. Since opening its first store more than 40 years ago, the Marshalls name has become synonymous with off-price shopping, featuring men's, women's, and children's clothing, footwear, accessories and home merchandise daily.

West Fargo Senior Planner Tim Solberg verified the commitment saying city planning staff was presented with a shell package plan for the exterior of the project last week indicating that all was good to go. "They have applied for a permit, and they are going into the existing buildings and remodeling the interior so there doesn't appear to be a need for any additional improvements to the site," Solberg stated. "The parking, landscaping and overall site plan are compliant and we did a rezoning recertification a month ago which verified the site is still in compliance. The most significant change on the plans are facade improvements at the Old Navy site. This is great. It is really exciting when projects just kind of drop in like this one."

An attempt to contact store officials to gain more information before press time was unsuccessful. Details on intending opening dates will be forthcoming.
