Nominations sought for military heroes

In conjunction with Military Appreciation Day on July 14 during the Red River Valley Fair, the fair will be honoring local active-duty military or veterans through its Hometown Heroes program. RRVF is asking members of the community to nominate past or present members of the military who they think have gone above and beyond for their country, family and community. Anyone who has served in the military and is still living is eligible.

Requirements for nomination are: nominees must still be living and must live within a 100-mile radius. Winners must be willing to attend the fair on July 14 and nominators will be asked to read the entry onstage at the Hometown Hero program beginning at 7:15 p.m. before the Scotty McCreery concert at the grandstand.

Nominations will open April 1 and close May 31.

Go online http://redrivervalleyfair.com/hometown-hero to nominate a hometown hero.

For more information, contact Judy Dvoracek, special events coordinator, or Lisa Hochhalter, at (701) 282-2200.

The Red River Valley Fair will be July 12-17 in West Fargo.
