BioLife locations reopen, limit donations to once per week in June

BioLife Plasma Services, including the Fargo location at 2617 12th Ave. S., closed temporarily Wednesday, May 31, across the U.S. due to anticoagulant supply shortage.

FARGO — The BioLife Plasma Services locations in Moorhead, West Fargo and Fargo have re-opened after a temporary shutdown late last month.

The three locations closed Wednesday, May 31. The West Fargo and Moorhead sites reopened the next day, BioLife staff said. The Fargo location was set to open by June 5 at the latest.

The locations closed due to a shortage of anticoagulant, which is necessary in the plasma collection process.

Because of the supply shortage, donors are limited to one donation per week in June in order to accommodate as many donors as possible, BioLife said on its Facebook page.

BioLife, which compensates people for donating plasma, said all coupons previously scheduled to end May 31 will be extended through June 15.
