Sheyenne Crossings New innovation in senior living

Eventide, a trusted name in senior health care since 1951, will be hosting the Grand Opening of its new West Fargo campus - Sheyenne Crossings - on Wednesday, May 30, with a special ribbon cutting ceremony planned for 1:30 p.m., followed by an open house celebration from 2 to 4 p.m.

Located in the heart of West Fargo on the corner of 13th Avenue and Sheyenne Street, Sheyenne Crossings provides comfortable solutions to the ever-changing needs of today's and tomorrow's senior population.

Eventide President Jon Riewer, who has been a catalyst for the project since its very inception, said he is thrilled to see the project finally nearing completion. "We are excited to have an Eventide presence in West Fargo and to be a part of a thriving community as it continues to blossom. We are thrilled to be a part of that growth. From the onset of this project, looking to expand our facilities, it was important for us to be in a place where people wanted us," Riewer noted. "That excitement hit me right away as we were driving around looking at locations. From our initial meeting with the city commission and all the patient neighbors, we felt people were very much invested in our future success. Now that we are reaching fruition, the community continues to rally around us. That is a wonderful feeling, and we are so grateful to be part of such a progressive community in regards to new living options and services for our senior population."

Riewer said everyone is also gratified and impressed with the ease in marketing Sheyenne Crossings. "The local small-town flavor West Fargo has to offer, situated in a larger metro area with a variety of opportunities nearby, has made the facility extremely appealing to people who live in smaller surrounding towns. We also have a number of people throughout the metro area who see it as the lifestyle choice they want to enjoy."

Riewer exudes the same pride and confidence when it comes to Sheyenne Crossing's capable and caring staff, which he describes as an extremely positive part of the overall picture. "We have a terrific staff of quality, qualified people, many of them from literally a few blocks away, that are totally committed to serving our seniors' everyday needs."

Services provided at Sheyenne Crossings are indeed diverse and all encompassing, with the modern campus bringing together the combination of three different levels of housing and the services each requires, with the community including Sheyenne West, independent living with services; Sheyenne East, assisted living; and Prairie Square, memory care. Each housing option has a different level of service included in the rent, and services can be tailored to fit individual needs and lifestyles.

Independent Living offers a more carefree, relaxed lifestyle. Professional staff looks after maintenance and upkeep, allowing residents to spend their time doing the things they truly enjoy. Spacious homes, tasteful décor, and a variety of social programs make living at Sheyenne Crossings an easy, everyday pleasure.

Assisted living offers a greater level of care from staff, while encouraging wellness, personal dignity and independence. Private apartments, delicious meals, and an array of activities create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Personal care services are provided by professional, caring staff.

Prairie Square offers a safe, low-stimuli environment, designed to support the needs of those in the early stages of memory loss. Residents can walk out into a secure garden area to enjoy the outdoors, and participate in meaningful activities. Prairie Square encourages family involvement and interaction, and caring staff get to know each resident as a unique individual.

Central to the campus is the Town Center, offering residents spaces to gather, socialize, and entertain, with amenities and services including: the Red River Coffee Shop, Beauty Salon, Art Gallery, Private Dining Room, Club Room, Governor's Lounge, Theater, Fitness Center/Spa, Guest accommodations, Community Dining Room, Central Reception/Information area, as well as access to beautiful grounds and a walking path.

Future plans also include possible construction of town homes near Charleswood.

The special ribbon cutting and open house celebration set for May 30 is open to the public, with everyone welcome and encouraged to stop in and visit, check out the facility and its amenities, and enjoy special refreshments.
