John Coleman, 61, West Fargo, died Friday, March 28, 2008, in the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Fargo. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday, April 2, with a prayer vigil at 7 in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, and one hour before the service in the church. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, April 3, in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, West Fargo. Burial will be at Alice Cemetery, Alice.
John Claude Michel Coleman was born on March 4, 1947, in Montdidier, France. He grew up and attended schools in Albany, Ga. He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga. He married Rosemary Dimmer on Sept. 22, 1984, in Albany. They resided in Albany and he worked as an electronic technician. In 1996, they moved to Blakely, Ga., and lived there until April 2006, when they moved to West Fargo.
John was a volunteer for the American Red Cross from 1994 until just after the events in New York on 9-11, where he spent significant time. He was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, a model railroad builder and a member of the Am Vets.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, West Fargo; 19 nephews and nieces and 24 great nephews and nieces.
