Sixth grade students at Cheney Middle School stole the show during a Safety Lyceum held on Friday, May 2, in the school's theater. Students put together songs, skits, videos, cheers, and raps to promote safety while skateboarding, bicycling, boating, driving, or engaging in recreational sports.
NDSU standouts Tyler Roehl and Cole Heckendorf visited with students, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets and equipment that fits correctly. Asking for a volunteer from the audience, Roehl demonstrated how ineffective his oversized football pads and helmet would be in protecting Noah Paper from injury.
