RRVF announces summer entertainment lineup
People who haven't already given up on their New Year's resolution to exercise will have a jumpstart on everyone else this July.
Stamina will be the utmost of importance with nine straight days of festivities planned at the Red River Valley Fair on July 9-17.
Announced at a press conference Tuesday, the fair boasts entertainment ranging from animatronic dinosaurs to international superstars.
The full lineup is as follows:
Friday, July 9 - Glen Templeton opens for Rodney Atkins.
Saturday, July 10 - a local band yet to be announced opens for Tesla.
Sunday, July 11 - a local band opens for Sawyer Brown.
Monday, July 12 - LoCash Cowboys opens for Jake Owen.
Tuesday, July 13 - Stealing Angels opens for Steel Magnolias.
Wednesday, July 14 - To be announced.
Thursday, July 15 - Hairball.
Friday, July 16 - a local band opens for Little River Band.
Saturday July 17 - A Monster Truck show featuring Get-Er-Done, Shell Camino, Robo Machine and possibly Strait Jacket and Triple XXX.
There's even something for the family paleontologists.
New this year is "Days of the Dinosaur," a total animatronic display of up to 15 life-size dinosaurs. To catch a sneak peak, check out www.daysofthedinosaur.com.
Keep the Dramamine in close reach if vertigo and spinning makes you queasy. The Murphy Brothers Exposition will be coming back again this year with their lineup of extreme rides.
And there will be no shortage of clowning around, as the Garcia Brothers Circus also will be on hand, featuring acts such as the Globe of Death and Wheel of Destiny.
The Cass County Farm Bureau's AG Educations Center again will be a major Fair focal point, featuring a birthing center, commodity education area and an agriculture machinery display.
