Dakota Growers Pasta Contest, Lego Building Contest and Cake Walk set
The Dakota Growers Pasta Contest, Lego Building Contest and a Cake Walk, open to all ages, will be part of the fun at the 2010 Red River Valley Fair. Harvest Hall will be the location for all the activity.
"Contests that challenge people to try new things or perfect their talents are great activities to be a part of, especially when we offer so many at the Fair," said Fair Office Manager Toni Muffenbier. "Not only is it wonderful to see people's competitive sides come out, it's great to see people be supportive of one another in the contests."
Amateur chefs, 18 years and older, are encouraged to participate in the annual Dakota Growers Pasta Contest on Saturday, July 10, at 4 p.m. Entrants will be able to create their favorite pasta dish and be eligible for great prizes, including gift certificates from Carino's.
The Lego Building Contest will be held on Saturday, July 10, at 2 p.m. The Lego builders must bring their own Legos in order to compete in the competition, which will allow 30 minutes to complete their creation. Judging will be based upon creativity and originality. Deadline for entries is today, July 7. A limited number of Legos will be provided for the participants who register on Saturday.
New at the Red River Valley Fair is the Cake Walk, held on Tuesday, July 13, at 3 p.m. Competitors will participate in multiple rounds to music. Winners will receive a cupcake and a gift certificate to a designated business to pick up their cake. No pre-registration is required. All ages are welcome.
