Dardis honored with Chamber community leadership award

Bernie Dardis was the recipient of the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce community Leadership award during the West Fargo Exchange Club meeting on Tuesday, June 29, at the Legend's Event Center in West Fargo.

The award is one of the Chamber's highest honors and was presented in recognition of the spirit of service and support Dardis brings to the community of West Fargo. Dave MacIver, president of the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce, made the presentation.

Dardis has been involved in many community organizations and events of a number of years including: the West Fargo Exchange Club, the Metro Youth Partnership, the Fargo-Moorhead Personnel Association, the West Fargo and Fargo-Moorhead Chamber of Commerce, the NDSU Student Union and Activities Advisory Board, the March of Dimes Bowls for Babies fundraiser, and Dollars for Scholars. He has also served as an assistant scout master, an AAU Youth Wrestling assistant coach, and an F-M Athletics football coach.

Dardis has also been appointed to the North Dakota Game and Fish Commission and as the state chairman of the Judicial Nominating Committee, and has been recognized with a number of awards for his years of service to his local community and the state.

Most recently, he was chosen unanimously by local leaders to receive the West Fargo Exchange Club's 2009 "Book of Golden Deeds Award." He was also recently presented with the "Elephants Remembered" award at the North Dakota State Republican Convention, along with the 2009-2010 Republican Party "Volunteer of the Year," recognizing his 35 years of service. Dardis has also been awarded the NDSU Masters of Success Lifetime Achievement Award and was inducted into the Theta Chi Fraternity Hall of Fame.

"Helping others is Bernie's passion and it is evident in his years of service to the community and our state," said MacIver. "His dedication is truly inspiring."
