Ag experts featured in the Issues and Events Center

While kicking tires and checking out the new technology, growers attending the Big Iron Farm Show are encouraged to visit the Red River Farm Network Issues and Events Center. Located at the heart of the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, between the Agriculture and Commercial Buildings, the RRFN Issues and Events Center is home to seminars throughout the Big Iron Farm Show September 14-16.

On Tuesday, September 14, starting at 10:30 a.m., the two candidates for North Dakota agriculture commissioner, Doug Goehring and Merle Boucher, will square off in a debate. Senate candidates John Hoeven and Tracy Potter will participate in a political forum, Wednesday, September 15, starting at 10:30 a.m. On Thursday, September 16, starting at 10:30, the seminar's focus will be on water issues, concentrating on drainage, the F-M Diversion and the potential impact on agriculture.

Each afternoon, starting at 1:30 p.m., there will be a market outlook session with industry-leading market analysts providing insight into the volatile markets. Panelists will include Virgil Robinson of PHI Marketing, Andy Shissler of Roach Ag Marketing, Ray Grabanski of Progressive Ag Marketing, Steve Wagner of Country Hedging, Drew Lerner of World Weather Inc., Betsy Jensen of Northland Community and Technical College, Frayne Olson of North Dakota State University and Brett Oelke of the University of Minnesota Extension Service.

In addition, there will be a seminar on agricultural land values and rental rates September 14 and 15, starting at 2:30 p.m.
