Brandon Anderson of West Fargo has been accepted to Jamestown College beginning in the fall of 2011. He is the son of Mark and Kim Anderson.

Anderson will graduate this spring from Shanley High School where he has been active in basketball, football and Key Club. He plans to major in radiologic technology, nursing, pre-pharmacy or accounting at Jamestown College and play basketball for the Jimmies. The College has awarded him a Dean's Scholarship, Alumni Referral Award, Journey Award, Pastor Referral Award and Men's Basketball Award.

Established in 1883, Jamestown College is a private, liberal arts four-year college granting bachelor of arts, bachelor of science, and bachelor of science in nursing degrees as well as master's degrees in education. Jamestown College offers more than 40 areas of study. 

The University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences presented the Dean's Special Recognition Awards for Outstanding Volunteer Faculty to several individuals during commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 15, including Barbara J. Hample, PA-C, Clinical Instructor of Internal Medicine and alumna (Physician Assistant '94), West Fargo.

As a community-based medical school, the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences relies on more than 900 part-time or volunteer faculty in over 30 communities throughout the state to educate medical students and residents. They assist in teaching the patient-centered curriculum and conducting performance-based assessments of the professional competence of the 241 students enrolled in the four-year Doctor of Medicine program.

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS0 has announced that West Fargo High School student Emily Feist from Reiles Acres has been selected for membership. The Society recognizes top scholars and invites only those students who have achieved superior academic excellence.

Membership in the group entitles qualified students to enjoy a wide variety of benefits, including scholarship opportunities, academic competitions, free events, online forms, publicity honors, as well as several others.
