Plush pet contest, rubber ducky races appeal to young at heart creative side

The Plush Pet Contest and Rubber Ducky Races set for July 13 at 3 p.m., in the Rabbit Barn, will provide great fun for youngsters looking for some individualized activity at the Red River Valley Fair.

"These special events are focused towards our little exhibitors," said Bryan Schulz, General Manager of the Red River Valley Fair.  "We want kids of all ages to come out and show the fairgoers how creative our youth is."

The Plush Pet Contest is a traditional favorite at the fair and is open to the very young exhibitors. Take along your favorite stuffed animal to be 'shown' to the judges, who will ask questions about the entries. Each contestant will receive a prize.

The Rubber Ducky Races, which will get underway at 4 p.m. on Monday, July 11, are available for people of all ages to enter.

The races will take place in the Poultry (Foltz) Building, allowing for one rubber duck per exhibitor. Prizes will be awarded. There is no entry fee.
