Judi Dench Movie Month — "Skyfall": 1 p.m. Thursday. Bond's latest assignment goes gravely wrong and agents around the world are exposed. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG-13.
New Release Movie — "My Little Pony": 2 p.m. Saturday. Twilight Sparkle and pals must go on an epic journey to defend their homeland of Equestria from fearsome invaders. Along the way, the ponies make a number of new friends, including a pirate crew. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG.
North Dakota Beer Display: Jan. 15 — May 15. Visit the balcony of the library to see an exhibit of rare North Dakota beer collectibles owned by Royce Granlund of Hickson.
DIY Journal Making: 2 p.m. Monday. Make a personalized journal to start the year off "write." Program is free and open to kids age 10 and up. Registration is requested. Call the library at (701) 433-5460 or stop by the service desk to register. Free.
The Science of Scams: 1 p.m. Tuesday.Heather Aal, Business Outreach Coordinator for the Better Business Bureau of North Dakota and Minnesota presentation. She will discuss personal information, how and where scammers get it, and how and why they use it. Free and open to the public.
Friday Morning Movie: 10:30 a.m. Friday. See library for movie title. Free movie and popcorn. Rated E.
Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bring projects or just ask questions.
Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories — no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.
Storytime with a Craft: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Story times are geared for preschool through first grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead at (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.
Twisted Stitchers: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Join this fun group for an evening of knitting or crochet. Come with your own supplies. Not for beginners, but tips will be given to knitters and crocheters needing help. No pre-registration required.
Technology Tutoring: 4-5 p.m. Wednesday. Bring a device or use one of the library's iPads or computers. All ages are welcome and no registration is needed.
Ham Radio — RRRA: 7 p.m. Wednesday. Sessions are open to adults and accompanied children interested in learning more about Ham radio.
The Next Chapter Book Club: 1 p.m. Wednesday. "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith. Stop by the service desk for an available copy and discussion questions. No registration necessary. Free and open to the public.
Judi Dench Movie Month — "Philomena": 1 p.m. Jan. 18. Young Philomena is sent to a convent after giving birth to her first child. When her son becomes a toddler, the nuns place him for adoption. Philomena spends the next 50 years looking for him. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG-13.
Snowman Storytime: 6 p.m. Jan. 18. Stop by for a few snowman stories, a make and take craft project, and a treat. Free.
Pine Needle Basketry Class: 10 a.m. Jan. 20. North Dakota Council on the Arts Artist Eileen McEnroe is returning to West Fargo to teach a class in Pine Needle Basketry. Register in advance at the service desk. A $15 non-refundable fee is due at time of registration. Space is limited.
Open Weave Pine Needle Session: 1 p.m. Jan. 21. This Pine Needle Open Weave Session is for previous students of Pine Needle Artist Eileen McEnroe and anyone who would like to observe the technique. No charge and no registration required.
Technology Class — Intro to Gmail and Google Drive: 1 p.m. Jan. 23. Learn the basics of using two of the most popular Google apps - Gmail and Google Drive. This class will cover navigation, settings, and uses for each app. Bring a laptop or use one of the library's laptops. Space is limited.
