North Dakota Beer Display: Jan. 15 — May 15. Visit the balcony of the library to see an exhibit of rare North Dakota beer collectibles owned by Royce Granlund of Hickson.
Laid-Back Winter Book Club: Jan. 8 — March 20. Join West Fargo Public Library's first Laid-Back Winter Book Club. Simply choose a book from the selections shown, receive a free packet of cocoa, and take home with a Laid-Back reading comment card. Read the book, enjoy the cocoa, complete the comment card and return. Each returned comment card entitles reader to enter a drawing for a free coffee gift card. Prizes drawn March 20, the first day of Spring. Prizes courtesy of the Friends of the Library.
Judi Dench Movie Month: 1 p.m. Thursday. Comedy about seven cash-strapped senior citizens who decide to spend time at a resort in India. From the 2004 novel by Deborah Moggach. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG-13.
Friends of the Library Winter Bag Sale: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Friends of the West Fargo Public Library will hold their annual Winter Bag Sale. Attendees can purchase and fill a bag full of winter reads. Cider and treats will be provided. All proceeds will benefit the West Fargo Public Library.
Legos and Game Night: 6:30 p.m. Monday. Build your own designs and create your own worlds with Legos. Play a variety of classic board games. We have a big supply of Legos and games for a fun evening for the whole family. Program is free and open to all ages.
Friday Morning Movie —"Curious George-Plays in the Snow": 10:30 a.m. Friday. Winter, spring, summer, fall, Curious George explores it all. Join the world's most curious monkey for year-round laughter. Whether he's playing in the winter snow or building a boat for a summer race, Curious George makes every season fun in Curious George: Free movie and popcorn. Rated E.
Genealogy: Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Bring projects or just ask questions.
Good Conversations Book Club — "The Perfect Horse": 2:30 p.m. Sunday Long-time West Fargo resident Dixon Moorhead returns to lead an informal discussion on the book "The Perfect Horse: The Daring U.S. Mission to Rescue the Priceless Stallions Kidnapped by the Nazis" by Elizabeth Letts. Books and discussion questions are available in advance at the service desk. "The Perfect Horse" is also available on Library2Go. Good Conversations is an informal book gathering and not an organized book club. It is free and open to all area high school students and adults.
Simply Stories: 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. This session is geared for lap babies and preschoolers and is just stories — no crafts. For stories and simple make-and-take crafts, visit the library at 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is not required.
Storytime with a Craft: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Story times are geared for preschool through first grade age children and their caretakers. Daycares are welcome, but for groups larger than five, please call ahead at (701) 433-5460. Registration is not required.
Twisted Stitchers: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Evening of knitting or crochet. Bring supplies. Not for beginners, but tips will be given to knitters and crocheters needing help. No pre-registration required.
Technology Tutoring: 4-5 p.m. Wednesday. Drop in for a one on one tutoring session to get help with technology questions and build skills. Bring a device or use one of the library's iPads or computers. All ages are welcome and no registration is needed.
Ham Radio — RRRA: 7 p.m. Wednesday. Sessions are open to adults and accompanied children interested in learning more about Ham radio.
Olympics Movie Month — "Miracle": 1 p.m. Feb. 1. Based on the true story of the most famous team in the history of American sports--the 1980 US Olympic hockey team. Free movie and popcorn. Rated PG.
The afterschool program will be open Monday through Friday, when school is in session, from 3-5:30 p.m.
