FARGO — It might not feel like winter, but the Salvation Army is getting ready for the snow with the annual fall coat collection.

From Tuesday, Sept. 11, until Monday, Sept. 17, you can drop off any spare winter coats and accessories at any Hornbacher's in Fargo and Moorhead.

The Salvation Army will be picking up coats at 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17.

This year, they're in need of children's coats between sizes six and 12.

Salvation Army corps member Major Vangie O'Neil said they're collecting coats before the fall event starts, because they want to a get ahead of the snow.

"You know it takes a little time to get them collected and then we'll get them all professionally cleaned, and then it takes some time to give them out ... So, now is a great time to start," Salvation Army corps member Major Vangie O'Neil said.

Last year, the Salvation Army collected nearly 1,800 coats and 2,300 winter accessories.
