Man suspected of trying to run over Bismarck police officer found in South Dakota

Raemonda Eugenia "Mona" Olson, 55, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska.

Mona was born to Raymond Schultz and Delores Gilley on Aug. 25, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa. During her childhood, her family moved to Oregon, where she grew up, attending and graduating from high school. She married Greg Olson on Oct. 12, 1991. They moved to Hewitt, Minn., in September 1992. She received her certified nursing degree from Wadena Technical College in Wadena. Mona enjoyed gardening and the outdoors; she doted on her grandchildren, loved to bake and cook for her family, and also enjoyed painting.

Surviving Mona are her husband, Greg Olson of Detroit Lakes; daughters, Shannon Lowry of Molalla, Ore., Jennifer L. Harvey of Soldotna, Alaska and Kendra Olson of Detroit Lakes; sons, Christian Durr of Portland, Ore., Calaib Heiderich of Detroit Lakes, Brad and Aaron Olson, both of Detroit Lakes; five granddaughters; seven grandsons; mother, Delores Gilley of Idaho; and father, Raymond Schultz of Portland, Ore.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes. There will be visitation for one hour prior to the start of services at the funeral home.
