Lisbon teen badly hurt in dirt bike crash with pickup

MILNOR, N.D. — A 14-year-old boy riding a dirt bike was seriously injured in a collision with a pickup truck here about 3:50 p.m. Monday, June 18.

Jayson Gainor was driving a Honda dirt bike south on Third Street when he was hit by a Ford F-250 driven by 44-year-old Ryan Smith going west on Third Avenue, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Gainor, of Lisbon, N.D., was thrown from the motorcycle, and Smith, of Milnor, was uninjured, the patrol said.

Gainor was taken to the Lisbon hospital and then flown to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, with serious injuries that were not life-threatening, the patrol said.

The crash remains under investigation.
