No one injured in vehicle fire on I-94 exit ramp in Fargo.

FARGO - A fire totaled an SUV after the occupants heard a noise and stopped on the 25th Street South exit ramp from Interstate 94 on Friday, July 27, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.

According to the report:

Alexis Nelson, 18, Fargo, was driving a 2001 Land Rover eastbound on Interstate 94 and exited at 25th Street South about 9:25 p.m.

Nelson, and a passenger, Deven Campbell, 26, West Fargo, said they heard a loud noise and then the SUV started on fire. Nelson stopped the vehicle on the shoulder of the off-ramp and she and Campbell both got out without injury, the Patrol reported.

The report says a mechanical issue of some kind apparently caused the fire.

The exit ramp was closed for about two hours while emergency crews cleared the scene.

Also responding to the fire were personnel from the Fargo police and fire departments, F-M Ambulance, and Cass County Sheriff's Department.
