Woman sought in shooting death of Minot man found 75 miles away
MINOT, N.D. -- Law enforcement officers have caught a 38-year-old woman who is accused of shooting a 58-year-old Minot man to death on South Main Street in Minot earlier Thursday, Nov. 16.
She was arrested in New Town, about 75 miles to the southwest, about 4 p.m. without incident, said Minot Investigations Commander John Klug.
That was about eight hours after officers were dispatched to the Minot residence at 7:55 a.m Thursday morning and found the man dead at the scene.
The suspect arrested in the shooting is Kommika K. Gregory, who was seen driving a Blue 2011 Mazda CX9 with North Dakota license plate number 060CAV shortly after the shooting. That vehicle was found at a north Minot home. She then fled the Minot area in a black SUV style vehicle with unknown plates, said Klug.
The name of the victim will not be released at this time pending family notifications.
Minot police investigations commander Capt. John Klug said the rumors circulating on Facebook about an active shooter were false. He said the shooting was an isolated incident and the victim and suspect were acquaintances.
“We do not believe there is an immediate threat to anyone else in the community,” Klug said.
