Grants available to plant gardens, orchards at North Dakota schools, communities
BISMARCK — North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced that $52,500 is available to help schools and communities in the state plant gardens and orchards in 2018.
The grants, which are available on a competitive basis, will be awarded to communities or schools in increments from $500 to $7,500.
Grants can be used for new projects to pay for trees, planting supplies, soil amendments, irrigation and fencing supplies. The money can't be used to pay for permanent structures, land or capital expenditures.
