State Sen. Ron Sorvaag to seek re-election to ND Legislature
FARGO — Republican Sen. Ron Sorvaag will seek another term in the North Dakota State Senate, he announced Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Sorvaag was first elected in 2010 to the Senate. He serves on the Appropriations Committee and chairs the Government Finance Committee, and also is a member of the Water Topics Overview, Government Administration, Budget Section and Legislative Management committees.
"The upcoming session of the North Dakota Legislature will be very important," Sorvaag said in a release. "We have many challenges and opportunities to continue to improve the lives of our citizens and to ensure that North Dakota continues to grow and prosper."
Sorvaag previously served on the International Legislative Committee, CSG Economic Development and NCSL Budgets and Revenue.
He's a small business owner and former Fargo Park commissioner. He and his wife, Carla, have two grown children, Scott, and Jessica, and a grandchild, Simeon.
District 45 includes the north parts of Fargo, West Fargo and rural Cass County, as well as the North Dakota State University campus.
