Lee seeks re-election

District 13 Senator Judy Lee has announced that she will seek another four-year term for the North Dakota Senate .

Senator Lee was first elected in 1994 and has been re-elected to 4 additional terms. She has served on the Senate Human Services committee since 1995 and as chair since 2001. Lee has also served on the Political Subdivisions committee every session, except for two sessions on the Government and Veterans Affairs committee. She was elected President pro tempore in 2007 to preside over the Senate in the absence of the Lieutenant Governor.

Senator Lee said “North Dakota is fortunate to have a strong economy, reduced taxes, good schools, strong local governments, and good jobs available. Our challenge continues to be establishing priorities for spending while working on controlling taxes and saving a good portion of the resources currently available so that future generations can benefit. I am honored to have been able to represent District 13 for these past years, and I look forward to continuing to work for my friends and neighbors.”

Judy Lee grew up in Grafton, ND, graduated from the University of North Dakota, and spent most of her career as a real estate broker. She and her late husband, Duane, have two children, Jon and his wife Billie Jean of Plano, Texas, and Maren and her husband Joe Matal of Bethesda, Maryland. She has three grandchildren, John, Elizabeth, and Margaret Matal.
