Bicyclist killed in Wadena crash identified

WADENA, Minn. — The bicyclist who died after hitting a car while crossing Highway 10 against a red light on Thursday night, Oct. 4, has been identified as Daniel John Cermack, 39, of Detroit Lakes, Minn.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol release, the biker was travelling northbound on Second Street when he crossed Highway 10 and hit the 2009 Chevy Silverado broadside, which was heading west, at 11:15 p.m.

The driver, Lyle William Bethel, 67, of Dent and passenger, Elaine Marie Tuma, 68, of Perham were not injured, the release said.

The victim was not wearing a helmet, according to the release.
