To the West Fargo Pioneer staff.

Congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the West Fargo Pioneer. West Fargo has

grown by leaps and bounds, but we have been able to maintain our small-town

atmosphere thanks in part to the work of this paper.

Whether it is the local high school sports scores or coverage of the newest business,

the West Fargo Pioneer has kept our residents informed and connected to the

community they call home.

Your reporting has kept our residents in the know during major events, such as

renaming to the City of West Fargo in 1967, merging with Riverside in 1989, starting the

Sheyenne Diversion in 1990, and doubling our city limits and population over the last 20

years. Now, with the revitalization of our downtown and a bright future on our horizon

we are so grateful to have a resource such as the West Fargo Pioneer in our community

to share our news.

Your dedication to West Fargo is tremendous and celebrating this milestone is well

deserved. Here's to another 50 years!

Sincerely,

Mayor Rich Mattern,

City of West Fargo
