We hope you like what you read

This week we are pleased to not only be sharing our news with our regular reader base, but reaching out to a whole new audience as well.

For those of you who are reading our newspaper for the first time, we hope you like what you see.

In the past, the West Fargo Pioneer was delivered by mail and newsstand with a Wednesday publication date. Beginning this week, we are being inserted into The Forum every Thursday as a value-added service to West Fargo Forum subscribers, a delivery partnership which ultimately grows our distribution base weekly by one-and-a-half times.

Our regular readers who don't receive The Forum will still receive their Pioneer in the mail; and there will be Pioneers available inside Thursday's Forum at a variety of newsstand sites wherever racks indicate it. Aside from our new delivery day the other change is a more contemporarily restyled appearance for our publication.

The West Fargo Pioneer was founded in 1967 by Don and Betty Witham as West Fargo's weekly community newspaper. Forum Communications Co. acquired the publication in 2005, which continues to operate under the same principles - devoted to all facets of local community news events and happenings - schools, city government, extensive sports and feature reporting, as well as serving as the official publication for the City of West Fargo, and the designated newspaper for legals for the neighboring communities of Harwood, Horace, Mapleton and Reiles Acres as well.

This move is a positive for everyone involved. The Pioneer will retain its own identity with a larger reading audience within the community it has served for over forty years. It will also serve as an enhancement publication for The Forum, the area's only daily local and regional newspaper; and the increase in distribution will be a direct asset to advertisers looking to reach out and touch an expanded consumer base.

Local stories are and will continue to be the foundation the West Fargo Pioneer is built upon. Our faithful readership has always been a huge resource for many of our feature story leads that showcase our communities' residents, and we hope that arrangement continues to flourish and grow.

Consequently, we'd welcome any potential feature (or other news) leads from any of you who feel you have something to share.

Our offices remain at 322 Sheyenne Street in West Fargo and we can still be contacted at 282-2443.

However, inquiries regarding delivery of the West Fargo Pioneer should be directed to The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead by calling (701) 241-5445, 800-272-5445 or by e-mailing
