Letter to the Editor: Great support helps local causes

To the Community:

This past Friday, the West Fargo Exchange Club hosted the 12th Annual Fun Night, their one and only fundraiser throughout the year. After reviewing all the numbers for the fifth time, we came to the conclusion that it was a memorable night for a number of reasons.

First and foremost, I can't remember the last time we had people dancing in the aisles. I am sure many factors contributed to this behavior, but we'll blame it on the activities and purpose of the evening along with some real good oldies music.

Secondly, the amount that was raised was a record.  This can only be attributed to one factor, the generosity and graciousness of our local businesses and you, the public, for showing up and choosing to spend your hard-earned dollars and your Friday night at our fundraiser.

During the course of my normal business day, I speak to people all over the country and they ask me the same question; how can you choose to live where you do?  I quickly answer back, "That's simple, because where I live, people still care about one another."

Because of those that donated to and attended our event, the West Fargo Exchange Club will donate thousands of dollars this year to local causes including, but not limited to, Preventing Child Abuse, comforting those that have been abused, promoting Americanism, and making our community a better place to live and raise families.

Thank you from the West Fargo Exchange Club!
