Letter to the Editor: Bullying prevention needed in schools

Dear Editor:

Bullying in schools can cause serious issues in teens. If the bullying is not stopped, it can lead to suicide. A young girl in Cooperstown, N.D., committed suicide recently due to online bullying.

Bullying can also lead to depression. Children and teens who are bullied many become depressed because of the things being done or said to them. The child being bullied may not be getting the education they deserve. Kids should feel safe while at school. If the child does not feel safe and is focusing their attention elsewhere, they are losing out on their education.

Bullying can have some serious effects on kids; therefore, something needs to be done to help prevent bullying.
