Letter: Clean up West Fargo

Wow. Spring is finally here. Yes, it has been a long, cold winter.

There is, however, a season we have that lasts longer. In fact, it lasts all year long: the trash season.

I’m talking about the garbage in our gardens, rubbish in our roads and the waste in our waterways. Don’t get me wrong – I am thankful for all those people who help pick up trash. They are the unsung heroes of our community.

Why does the trash have to be there in the first place?

Well, look around. There are beautiful expensive houses and buildings going up everywhere, yes West Fargo is on the rise. Then why can’t we find a way for contractors to contain their waste? Why can’t people bag their trash and keep it in their trash cans? Why can’t the Parks and Recreation Department maintain the parks and keep garbage off the park grounds and out of the water?

We spend mountains of money on edifices and landscapes, but we don’t take the time to trap the trash.
