The West Fargo Patriots Legion baseball team has, so far, been continuing its success of last season.

Since last Tuesday, the team has won seven of eight games against five different teams.

On Tuesday, pitcher Anjelo Shepherd gave a three-hit, seven-strikeout performance in a 11-2 victory in their first game against Devils Lake.

In the second game, the Patriots overwhelmed their opponent at the plate with 18 hits in a 16-0 victory.

In Wednesday's doubleheader, the team ended up with the same score in both games, topping Bismarck 9-1 in the first game and 9-4 in the second.

Both catcher Chase Gooding and third baseman Devin Wagenman had three hits in the first game, and shortstop Ben Huber had three in the second.

Gooding took the mound in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader aginst Dickinson, and picked up the victory -- striking out five batters along the way -- in a nine-inning, 8-2 win.

The team's only loss of the week came in the second game against Dickinson, who scored three runs in the sixth inning to pull ahead of the Patriots 10-7.

The team bounced right back in Sunday's Joe Parmer Red River Diamond Classic American Legion baseball tournament in Fargo, besting Hamiota 9-0 -- where Shepherd threw a one-hitter -- before earning a 10-1 victory over Aberdeen, S.D., where right fielder Camran Bonnema hit four runs in.

The Pats travel to Omaha, Neb., this weekend and will face five different teams from across the nation, starting with West Monroe, La., tomorrow morning.
